Ancestral Abrahamic Counseling
Ancestral Abrahamic counseling combines modern psychological principles with the wisdom of enduring orthodoxies to address emotional, spiritual, and practical concerns.
Our approach is:
-Confidential and non-judgmental
-Holistic, practical, and action-oriented
-Based on the tenets of our religion but open to all
Pastoral counseling is not a substitute for medical or psychiatric treatment. This service addresses needs that fall well beyond the western medical paradigm and so go unmet by it. As desired, your Ancestral Abrahamic counselor might help you integrate your earthly and spiritual efforts, suggest exercises that draw on ancient wisdom and rituals, or discuss life plans that our spiritual ancestors would have extended to you.
Bright Orthodoxy’s guiding principles grant the client control of the course of counseling but no matter the specifics, during sessions, clients can expect a master’s level clinician to listen to them, seek full understanding, and offer guidance that speaks to Bright Orthodoxy’s values— health, self sovereignty, community resilience, tolerance, and insight.

Supported Approach
Avoiding something? Bright Orthodoxy is overjoyed to offer a new pastoral counseling service, Supported Approach, aka “Scary Task Support”. Through this confidential service, a community member will assist or accompany you through a task you’ve found too stressful or overwhelming to get started with on your own.
-Make choices that align with your authentic self
-Practice healthy approach-driven coping skills
-Seek and receive compassion
Particulars are up to the client but a session might include a short in-person meeting where the provider sorts through a client’s unopened mail with them, hands them items to be opened one at a time, helps them identify any next steps to take based on their contents, and if necessary assists them in drafting a plan to complete those next steps. Afterward, they will help the client unwind with a short walk or some conversation so the client can continue their day with a sense of peace and purpose.
