Ancestral Fasting
All Abrahamic religions, and many outside of this framework, include some manner of fasting. Because they employed it, so will we.

Prehistoric Spirituality
Prehistoric spirituality passes through the Abrahamic bloodline in the form of animistic motifs, ancestor worship, possession by spirits and belief in an afterlife. Bright Orthodoxy finds this ancestral wisdom where its respective traditions converge.

Genesis in our Genome
No Abrahamic religion makes room for any god but its own. In his primacy we have inherited none of the Mesopotamian gods but his singular aim of self-preservation.

Sweep and Scour to Survive
Over a thousand years before the advent of germ theory, Jews washed their hands and feet often as part of their religious practice.

Orthodoxy as Conserved Sequences
Our predecessors passed down advantageous practices in conserved sequences as orthodoxies.

Vatican Hill
The Vatican was built on a hill above reclaimed swamp land where a necropolis had cropped up. Romans worshipped there at the temple of Cybele as Christian martyrs filled the necropolis.

Under the Trump Administration
Bright Orthodoxy under the Trump Administration
Religion has no place in the state, just as the state has no place in religion. Bright Orthodoxy will neither endorse nor lament the incoming administration. We can though acknowledge the likelihood of deregulation across several sectors, and the destabilization that comes with sweeping changes. Bright Orthodoxy will serve her people through these, as our practices have served people since prehistory and through the rise and fall of nations.

Bright Orthodoxy means Survival
Orthodoxies represent the combined work of generations, like languages or speciation. Bits and pieces of English have persisted since the Neolithic in words like mother, fire, and I. Humans and pine trees share a sliver of DNA, the building blocks for our most recent common ancestor.

Göbekli Tepe
Our religion hinges on the values and practices of people subject to the natural world to a degree we cannot imagine.
