Orthodoxy as Conserved Sequences

Our predecessors passed down advantageous practices in conserved sequences as orthodoxies. Islam instructs followers through frequent and elaborate personal hygiene practices. It emphasizes care of the sick but also discourages travel to places with outbreaks or contamination. The Prophet Muhammad instructed his followers to cover their faces when sneezing or coughing. These recommendations pre-empted the CDC’s guidance for the coronavirus by over a thousand years.
